Cardinals release wide receiver Andre Baccellia

Just two days after he was promoted to the active roster from the practice squad, wide receiver Andre Baccellia was released by the Arizona Cardinals yesterday and is a free agent.

Entering into the NFL, Baccellia has had a turbulent start of his career to say the least.

Baccellia went undrafted in 2020 before being signed by the Kansas City Chiefs.

Unfortunately for him, Baccellia was released as the Chiefs before the 2020 preseason concluded.

Soon after, the wide receiver would be claimed by the New England Patriots on Aug. 29, 2020.

Quickly, New England also released him after two weeks of him being on their squad.

Then, Arizona signed Baccellia on Apr. 15, 2021.

Baccellia spent the past two seasons with the Cardinals, playing in 10 games.

Furthermore, he recorded seven receptions for 45 yards on 10 targets last season in eight contests.

In 2023, Baccelli has played twice and was not able to record a statistic.

The Cardinals have released, waived and re-signed Baccellia multiple times during his time in the desert.

For the most part, he spent the majority of the time on Arizona’s practice squad.

However, before they played the Cleveland Browns on Nov. 5, the Cardinals promoted Baccellia to their active roster.

Now that he is released, Baccellia can look elsewhere and see if another NFL team will give him another chance.
