Chad Johnson shares hilarious reason for wishing he played for this NFC East squad

Former Pro Bowl wideout Chad Johnson played most of his career with the Cincinnati Bengals. However, on Saturday, Johnson explained the hilarious reason why he wished he'd suited up for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Speaking with reporters ahead of Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith's celebrity softball game, Johnson lauded the Philly faithful for their well-known antics.

"I don't know how to explain it," Johnson said via Chris Franklin of nj.com. "Can I curse? There's no fanbase like this. They f------ beat up Santa. Who does that?

"I wish I would've been able to play here."

Johnson was an electrifying player throughout an 11-year NFL career. He also ruffled the feathers of the "No Fun League" several times, furthering his popularity. Whether you found him annoying or entertaining, "Ochocinco" always drew a response.

There's little doubt that Johnson would have been a polarizing figure if he had donned midnight green. As long as he was productive and the Eagles were winning, Johnson would've been beloved in Philly.

Though, as Hall of Famer Terrell Owens learned many moons ago, Eagles fans can turn quickly on eccentric wide receivers when things get rough.

While Johnson once had a makeshift gold jacket placed over his shoulders on the sidelines, he isn't likely to find himself joining the immortals in Canton.

A six-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro, Johnson recorded 766 receptions for 11,059 yards and 67 touchdowns over 166 career NFL games.
