After news broke this afternoon that starting Los Angeles Chargers tight end Gerald Everett was at least doubtful ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Green Bay Packers, things have gone from bad to worse for your Bolts.

That's because, per Daniel Popper of The Athletic, the Chargers just revealed that Everett has now been ruled out with a reported chest injury.

A 6'3", 250-pound vet out of South Alabama, Everett has to this point in the year accrued 167 yards on 21 receptions from Herbert, including two touchdowns.

If that wasn't enough, the statuses of starting wide receivers Keenan Allen and Jalen Guyton are both up in the air for this weekend, meaning starting Los Angeles quarterback Justin Herbert may be forced to cook up some magic with reserves. Running back Isaiah Spiller is also questionable for the matchup due to an illness.

Prior to this disappointing injury update, this Green Bay bout had been shaping up as a very gettable game for Los Angeles, following a bummer of a 41-38 loss last weekend to the Detroit Lions. The Packers are just 3-6 on the year, and Bolts, when healthy, are much more talented than their own 4-5 record might suggest. Getting back to a .500 record on the year, ahead of a somewhat challenging scheduling down the home stretch, is critical.
