Chargers' Top 3 Trade Destinations For Khalil Mack

After finishing 5-12 on the season, the Los Angeles Chargers hopeful season came to a crashing end. It was apparent early on that the Bolts weren't as good as many people thought they could be, ultimately leading to former head coach Brandon Staley being fired.

The team brought in new head coach Jim Harbaugh to run the show, and there is a new buzz surrounding the squad. But within the roster, there is a lot of work to do.

One key contributor that could end up being moved this offseason is All-Pro edge rusher Khalil Mack. Mack had his best season since 2017, and he broke his own record for sacks in a season.

He showed that he could still be an effective player in this league, and the Bolts could look to move him this offseason. They may want to capitalize on his high value right now and could likely net some strong assets back from teams looking to make one last move to become contenders. 

If the Bolts do move Mack, here are three teams that could get into the race to land him.

3. Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers have always had strong defenses, and adding Mack could help them continue that. Pairing him alongside TJ Watt could create a two-headed monster for the Steelers, which would terrify opposing offenses. 

Pittsburgh holds the No. 51 pick in the draft, and they may be willing to send that to the Bolts for Mack. The Steelers could add another piece to their defense while the Chargers receive extra draft compensation. 

The Steelers may not be seen as a true contender just yet, but more growth from the quarterback position could change that. And if anything, their defense would be a problem to deal with having Mack in it.

2. Los Angeles Rams

Could Mack stay in Los Angeles but just switch locker rooms? With the Rams' track record of trading away draft picks, you never know. 

Los Angeles surprised many last season to reach the playoffs, and now they will be looking to get themselves back there. They still have a solid offensive attack, but the defense could use a little help.

Adding Mack could give them more veteran experience on that side of the ball, and pairing him with Aaron Donald would be scary. Mack will be a free agent at the end of the season, meaning the Rams could use this as a one-year go-all-in type of situation.

1. Green Bay Packers

The Packers shocked a lot of people last season, reaching the divisional round of the playoffs. Quarterback Jordan Love looked like the real deal, and they will be looking to improve this next season. 

Adding someone like Mack could go a long way in helping them really take that next step, possibly into Super Bowl contention. Green Bay has some quality defenders as well, but they are armed with multiple second-round draft picks that could be attractive to the Chargers.

Mack suiting up for the historic team could be special, while the Chargers get extra draft assets.
