Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes needs to 're-evaluate' after loss to Bills

Patrick Mahomes is putting the Kansas City Chiefs on his shoulders after a 38-20 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night, saying an uncharacteristic number of turnovers is the culprit. (h/t ESPN).

"It starts with me," Mahomes said after contributing three of the Chiefs' (2-3 this season) four turnovers on the evening. "It's something I've not usually done in my career, but I have to reevaluate where I'm at, what decisions I'm making.

"I've been a crazier player as far as scrambling and making throws. But in my career, I've never been someone who throws a lot of interceptions. I have to look at it now, reevaluate what I'm doing, and I have to cut it out.''

ESPN notes Mahomes is currently on pace to throw 20 interceptions this season. His career-high is 12 during his 2018 campaign.

Despite the unusual number of turnovers from the star QB, head coach Andy Reid appears optimistic the team can turn things around.

"We know we can do better on turnovers, big plays -- I know what we are capable of," Reid said. "I see that. We just have to get that done."

The Chiefs (2-3) visit the Washington Football Team (2-3) next Sunday.
