C.J. Stroud spotted leaving celebrity softball game with Amber Rose
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud is enjoying quite the social month. After returning from Las Vegas, he hit the Houston hotspots and was spotted with Amber Rose.

It seems Rose, a model, author and TV-radio host, was in H-town to attend Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack HBCU Celebrity Softball Classic. After the game, photographers documented Stroud and Rose walking together to his car. And that started all sorts of buzz about whether the 22-year-old Texans quarterback is dating Rose, who is 18 years older.

But Rose quickly tried to put those dating rumors to rest. She said Stroud was simply doing a good deed. Apparently, she missed the van back to her Houston hotel.

“We literally don’t know each other and only met yesterday at a softball game,” Rose said in a note she shared to her Instagram Story. “The sprinter [van] left me and he was nice enough to give me a ride to my hotel.” Then she thanked Stroud again.

That game was Thursday night. Stroud then jetted to Indianapolis to play in the NBA celebrity all-star game at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Texans quarterback scored 31 points.

By Saturday afternoon, CBS cameras caught a glimpse of Stroud at a different sporting event. This time he was with Texans teammate Tank Dell. The duo sat courtside at the Fertitta Center to watch the third-ranked Houston Cougars men’s basketball team dismantle the Texas Longhorns. Stroud is an Ohio State alum, but Dell was a star receiver with the Cougars football team. The two had a wonderful rookie connection last fall with the Texans. Then Dell broke a bone in his leg against the Broncos in early December.

The Texans thrilled H-town as they went from woeful in 2022 to wonderful in 2023. The team won the AFC South, clinching a playoff berth the final weekend of the regular season. The Texans hammered the Browns at home to open wildcard weekend, then fell to the top-seeded Ravens in Baltimore.

Since then, Stroud was in Vegas as part of NFL Honors. Last year’s No. 2 pick of the NFL Draft won the league’s offensive rookie of the year trophy. Coincidentally, Texans teammate Will Anderson won defensive honors. Anderson was the third pick of last year’s NFL Draft.
