Colts Sign Former Buffalo Bills Starting OL
Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports

The NFL Trade deadline came and went on Halloween without the Indianapolis Colts making any trades. However they still came away with a pair of players on Halloween.

Tuesday morning it was announced they signed Jack Anderson from their practice squad to the 53-man roster. His move left a spot open on the practice squad that was filled with offensive lineman Ike Boettger according to the Colts' official site

Boettger is a familiar face in Indianapolis. The former Buffalo Bills player was previously with the Colts this season and saw action in two games.

He isn't your every-day practice squad player who has yet to see much time in the NFL. He's a six-year NFL vet that saw 17 starts in 2020 and 2021 for the Buffalo Bills.

At 6'6 and 315 pounds, Boettger provides cover at both guard and center with the reserves.

More on Boettger from the Indianapolis Colts release:

Boettger, 6-6, 313 pounds, has spent time on Indianapolis' active roster and practice squad this season after originally being signed to the team's practice squad on September 12, 2023. He has appeared in 36 career games (17 starts) in his time with the Colts (2023), Buffalo Bills (2018-23) and Kansas City Chiefs (2018). Boettger has also started three postseason contests. He was originally signed by the Bills as an undrafted free agent on May 11, 2018, out of Iowa. His last name is pronounced BUTT-gur.

In other news, the Colts announced on Monday they had signed safety Tyreque Jones to the practice squad and released defensive tackle Ross Blalock in a corresponding move.

Jones was an undrafted rookie free agent out of NC State this year. He was an NFL Combine invite who measured 6'2 and 195 pounds with a 4.52 forty-yard dash.
