Cowboys Predict Injured O-Line 'Full Force' for Green Bay
Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

The Dallas Cowboys hit almost all the right notes in their Sunday NFL Week 18 crushing of the Commanders and Washington and did so without the services of their two standout guards - a fact that buoys the 12-5 NFC East champs as they move to the NFL Playoffs.

But even more encouraging: In addition to rookie T.J. Bass playing left guard for an injured Tyler Smith (foot) and in addition to Brock Hoffman tossed into emergency action when Zack Martin came down with a last-moment illness. ...

Smith and Martin are expected to be "full force'' for this Sunday's playoff opener at home against Green Bay.

"They stepped up and did a great job,'' COO Stephen Jones said on 105.3 The Fan on Monday of Hoffman and Bass. "It's great to know you have those guys in the organization.''

But ...

"Certainly, it'll only get better when you get a Zack Martin, who's an All-Pro ... and get Tyler Smith back,'' Jones added. "The line should be be back full force and ready to go to start the playoffs. I feel really good about that."

It's true on all counts. Bass and Hoffman helped keep Dak Prescott upright so he could toss four TD passes ...

And the Cowboys, seven-point favorite on Sunday at AT&T Stadium, will be even better off with Smith and Martin back in the fold.
