DeAndre Hopkins working out with former Cowboys WR

Perhaps DeAndre Hopkins bought a Dez Byant recruiting pitch after recently training with the former Cowboys wideout.

Bryant posted a video of Hopkins lifting weights to his Twitter. Per SI.com's Mike Fisher, the pair were at Bryant's high school a few miles from the Star, a Cowboys facility in Frisco, Texas, for a children's camp.

It's significant because Hopkins has been the subject of trade speculation, and the Cowboys desperately need another elite WR alongside CeeDee Lamb.

It appears Arizona's rebuilding after it hired new head coach Jonathan Gannon and new general manager Monti Ossenfort. Dealing Hopkins after June 1 saves it $19.5M via OverTheCap.

Last season, Dallas finished 18th in receiving yards, and its passing offense may lose depth because tight end Dalton Schultz is a free agent; outside of Schultz and Lamb, no Dallas pass catcher recorded more than 50 receptions.

Therefore, a five-time Pro Bowler is something the Cowboys should aggressively pursue.

Hopkins caught 50 or more targets nine times in 10 seasons. In 2022, he finished 10th in receiving yards per game (79.7 yards per game).

Additionally, Hopkins is a bargain. Per Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer, acquiring Hopkins requires a second or third-round pick. For reference, Las Vegas dealt its 2022 first and second-rounder for Davante Adams, a six-time Pro Bowler.

Although Hopkins has to waive a no-trade clause in his contract, hanging out with Bryant is a positive sign because he may reel him into Dallas.
