The Houston Texans have made a few interesting roster moves in the past few weeks. The Texans traded Brandin Cooks to the Dallas Cowboys. In free agency, the offense added a few weapons to the team, including wide receiver Robert Woods, running back Devin Singletary, and tight end Dalton Shultz. Those could be key players for a new draft pick that head coach DeMeco Ryans hinted at picking recently.
According to DJ Bien-Aime with ESPN, Ryans, whose team has the number two overall draft pick in April, suggested the team had a group of players that would fit with a rookie quarterback:
“We have a really good, to a couple of good, quarterback prospects at the top of the draft,” Ryans said, “and we want to add a young quarterback to our team. We think that will be the right thing to do for our team. We feel like we have a good nucleus of players.
I still want to add some competition to that quarterback position, and this year, there’s two good guys at the top that we’ve looked at and that we value pretty highly. So we’re excited about the draft to be at that No. 2 spot.”
They can take one of their two favored quarterback selections at the number two spot.
