The Detroit Lions signed quarterback David Blough to their practice squad, according to reports.

Blough was a member of the Lions from 2019-22 before being released at the conclusion of the preseason. The Purdue product played seven games with five starts in that span.

He was released along with fellow backup Tim Boyle at the end of the preseason, with the Lions signing Nate Sudfeld to serve as Jared Goff's backup for the duration of the 2022 season.

Upon being released by the Lions, he signed with the Minnesota Vikings' practice squad before being signed by the Arizona Cardinals. He started two games for the Cardinals at the end of the 2022 season.

In those two starts, he passed for 402 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions while posting an 0-2 record.

He started five games for the Lions as a rookie in 2019 after injuries to Matthew Stafford and Jeff Driskel.

In that span, he was 94-for-174 for 984 yards with four touchdowns and six interceptions. He held an 0-5 record as the starter.

He earned a 57.2 overall offensive grade from Pro Football Focus for his performance.

The Lions currently have two quarterbacks on roster, Goff and Teddy Bridgewater
