The Miami Dolphins will open up training camp without the services of one of their most important members of the secondary.
Dolphins CB Byron Jones will start training camp on the PUP list. He missed all of off-season workouts after having Achilles’ clean up surgery.

In 16 games last season (all starts), Jones finished tied for third on the team in passes defensed (10) and ranked fifth in solo tackles with 47. Jones' 10 passes defensed, 58 combined tackles, 47 solo tackles and 11 assisted tackles were all his most since his lone Pro Bowl campaign in 2018 when he was with the Dallas Cowboys.
The 29-year-old former first-round pick joined Miami in 2020 after spending the first five years of his career in Dallas.
Without Jones, the Dolphins still have three-time Pro Bowler Xavien Howard, third-year safety Brandon Jones and second-year safety Jevon Holland slated to start in the secondary this fall.
