Dolphins Pro Bowl CB announces return to practice

Miami Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey announced a "restart" on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Wednesday morning.

It was reported shortly thereafter that the six-time Pro Bowler was returning to practice for the first time since being placed on injured reserve less than two months ago with a torn meniscus.

Things appeared to be headed in the right direction for the 28-year-old when cornerbacks coach Sam Madison gave fans a positive injury update last week.

Ramsey was acquired by the Dolphins in a trade with the Los Angeles Rams in March but suffered his injury during training camp. Ramsey was placed on IR at the end of August, less than two weeks before the regular season began.

Without the former No. 5 overall pick's services this season, Miami's defense has ranked 26th in points allowed per game (26.0) and 20th in both yards (343.7) and rushing yards allowed per contest (114.5).

While Ramsey won't be back for the team's crucial "Sunday Night Football" tilt against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 7, a good goal for the Dolphins may be to get him in the lineup for their big Week 9 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs in Germany.

For now, defensive coordinator Vic Fangio and company will continue to roll with the likes of fellow Pro Bowl cornerback Xavien Howard, second-year cornerback Kader Kohou and safeties DeShon Elliott and Jevon Holland in the secondary.
