Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill says he won't stop celebrating despite fines

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill isn't going to stop celebrating, even though it may result in more fines.

"I'll never be hesitant toward celebrating. If I stop doing what I'm doing, then I should just stop inspiring the youth," Hill said Thursday on his podcast. "Scoring in the NFL is hard. It's always been my dream to play in the NFL, so when I score, it's like I'm back to being a kid again."

In a Week 6 victory against the Carolina Panthers, Hill grabbed a fan's phone and took a selfie while backflipping after he scored a 41-yard TD. One of the NFL's social media accounts posted the video and deleted it because it probably violated league rules, per Pro Football Talk.

"I know the NFL's gonna fine me for it, but it's worth it, though," Hill recently said, via PFT's Michael David Smith. "To be able to create memories I can look back on when I'm done is something I think of every time I play this game. Every time I step on the field, I'm gonna try to make it memorable."

To be fair to the league, it hands out fines for celebrations to discourage players from doing things that are in poor taste. However, it's overstepping its bounds in this case. Hill didn't do anything egregious, and he gave a fan an unforgettable memory, which is good for the league.

Regardless, Hill will likely have more celebrations in store this season the way he and the Dolphins are scoring. They're first in the NFL in points per game (37.2).

The seven-time Pro Bowler leads the NFL in receiving yards (814). If he stays on this trajectory, he will break the record former Lions WR Calvin Johnson set in 2012 (1,964 yards) and become the first pass-catcher to surpass the 2,000-yard mark.
