Eagles All-Pro shares hilarious description of what it's like to face Cowboys star

Having faced Dallas Cowboys star pass rusher Micah Parsons in each of his five career starts against the rival Philadelphia Eagles, All-Pro tackle Lane Johnson is in a unique position to judge just how elite he is.

Following the Eagles slim 28-23 win over the Cowboys on Sunday, Johnson shared a colorful description of what it's like to go one-on-one with Parsons.

"It's like taking on hell with a squirt gun," Johnson said via Tim McManus of ESPN.

The Eagles were without injured starting right guard Sua Opeta, so naturally, the Cowboys picked on his replacement, Tyler Steen. A third-round pick in April, Steen drew a tough assignment in his first career start as the Cowboys took every opportunity to line Parsons up against him.

Parsons certainly got his, finishing with nine tackles (one for loss), three quarterback hits and 1.5 sacks. While Parsons did get the best of him several times, Johnson lauded the rookie for his performance.

"Hats off to Steen, man. That's a hell of a first start," Johnson said. "This is one of the better defensive fronts in the league. So, I was proud of how he did -- I was really proud of how he battled."

Steen also came up with potentially the biggest play of Sunday's win. With 1:07 left in the fourth quarter and the Eagles nursing a 28-23 lead, running back D'Andre Swift collided with motioning wideout A.J. Brown, fumbling the ball at the Eagles 32-yard-line. However, Steen helped the Eagles avert disaster, fighting off the mad scramble to recover the football.

The Eagles came away the victors over Parsons and the Cowboys, but as has been the case throughout the season, the win wasn't pretty and didn't come easy. Philly trailed the Cowboys 17-14 at halftime but jumped ahead 28-17 heading into the fourth quarter, where if the Cowboys received some breaks, they could've stolen this one.

Along with the fumble Steen recovered, the Eagles coughed up the football twice more in the second half but were also able to regain possession of those, too. Meanwhile, the Cowboys came within inches, several times, of threatening the Eagles with their second loss.

Still down by 11 early in the fourth quarter, tight end Luke Schoonmaker appeared to secure a one-yard touchdown from QB Dak Prescott on fourth down, but a booth review overturned the ruling on the field, giving possession to the Eagles at their own goal line. Then, on the Cowboys' next possession, a touchdown catch by WR Jalen Tolbert cut the Eagles' lead to 28-23 with 6:23 left in the fourth quarter, and Prescott seemingly trimmed the deficit to three after rushing for a successful two-point conversion. However, a review showed Prescott had stepped out of bounds before the football crossed the goal line.

Regardless of how they're doing it, the Eagles keep winning. Yet, for Johnson and the Eagles, they know they have yet to play their best football nine weeks into the season.

"We're not satisfied. We know we have a lot of big games coming up," Johnson said.
