Eagles coach Nick Sirianni snubbed from NFL Coach of the Year nomination

The Associated Press announced the finalists for the NFL Coach of the Year award.

Eagles coach Nick Sirianni didn't receive a nomination.

The finalists for the award are San Francisco 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan, Jacksonville Jaguars coach Doug Pederson and Brian Daboll of the New York Giants, per AP.

Pederson, a former Super Bowl champion with the Eagles, took a team that won four games combined over the past two seasons and led them to an AFC South title and the divisional round of the playoffs.

Daboll led the Giants to their first playoff appearance since 2016, far exceeding preseason expectations.

Shanahan went 13-4 and led the 49ers to their third NFC Championship appearance in four years.

Meanwhile, Sirianni led the Eagles to a 14-3 record, best in the NFL. He was instrumental in the development of MVP candidate Jalen Hurts and built an offense that was second in yards gained this season, per StatMuse.

He also beat seven teams with a winning record this season, including NFC contenders Dallas and Minnesota.

The Eagles played in the toughest division in football. Washington's Ron Rivera is a two-time Coach of the Year winner and Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy won the award once.

Sirianni's Eagles beat the Giants three times this year, including a blowout victory in the second round of the playoffs.

Both Daboll and Pederson are deserving of consideration.

If Sirianni were to replace any of the finalists, it should be Shanahan. His clock management skills have come under fire recently and cost him a Super Bowl victory in Super Bowl LIV.

Now that Daboll and Pederson are eliminated from the playoffs, Sirianni will lead his Eagles against the biggest test they have faced so far, Shanahan and the 49ers.

While Sirianni didn't receive a Coach of the Year nomination, he can punch his ticket to Glendale, Ariz., for Super Bowl LVII by beating Shanahan's 49ers.
