In a Dallas Cowboys offense loaded with talent, the tight end position looked like the biggest question mark entering the year.

Dalton Schultz, the Cowboys' starting tight end for the last three years, moved across the state in free agency, leaving the team with some uncertainty.

Jake Ferguson solved that. And now he’s going to the Pro Bowl Games in Orlando.

With Ferguson stepping into a larger role this season, expectations were high for the former fourth-round pick. So when Pro Football Focus listed its top breakout candidates for each team, the Cowboys' choice was clear.

PFF was right. And so was Dallas, as Ferguson played with power and flair in serving veteran quarterback in Dak Prescott in a way that made him the team’s second best target behind CeeDee Lamb.

The Cowboys, led by All-Pros Lamb and Micah Parsons, will have nine participants in Orlando with Zack Martin reportedly backing out for personal reasons.
