Five-time Pro Bowl DL Jurrell Casey announces retirement from NFL

NFL defensive tackle Jurrell Casey is retiring from the league after 10 seasons, ProFootballTalk reported on Thursday.

Casey spent nine seasons playing for the Tennessee Titans, who selected him in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He recorded 51 sacks, 84 tackles for loss and 115 quarterback sacks during that tenure.

"My career, it was amazing, just to have the opportunity to play this game. It was beautiful," Casey said via the Titans’ website. "I always tried to play to the best of my ability, and always considered it an honor.

"To be able to get drafted by Tennessee, and to be able to live out a lifetime dream is everything a young man from Long Beach, Calif. could dream of. All the relationships that I made along the way, we had a brotherhood. And Tennessee, it was a great place to call home for me and my family."

The five-time Pro Bowl selection was traded to the Denver Broncos ahead of the 2020 season and only played in three games before suffering a torn bicep.
