Former Alabama player carries new number for Carolina Panthers
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

It lost Bradley Bozeman to the Los Angeles Chargers, but the Carolina Panthers picked up another former University of Alabama standout in NFL free agency to put with Bryce Young.

A’Shawn Robinson, a native of Fort Worth, Texas, signed a three-year, $22.5 million with the Panthers on March 13.

He spent last season with the New York Giants, three years with the Los Angeles Rams (2020-22), and four seasons with the Detroit Lions (2016-19). The Lions took Robinson in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft after his successful collegiate career with the Crimson Tide. He helped the Rams to a Super Bowl in 2021 and earned first-team All-SEC honors and Consensus All-American honors for the Tide in 2015. Robinson propelled Alabama’s defense to a Southeastern Conference Championship and a College Football Playoff National Championship in 2015. According to the Panthers’ social media, he will wear No. 94 for them.

We will see how his ninth season in the NFL turns out for the Panthers.
