Former NFL Star Has Concerning Health Update
Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

Former Denver Broncos RB Peyton Hillis is the ultimate hero.

The Arkansas product is currently in the ICU after saving his kids from drowning.

The accident took place while swimming in Pensacola, Florida, and the running back managed to keep his two children safe and sound.

However, he’s still unconscious, and there are reportedly great concerns about his kidneys and lungs, according to NFL insider Dov Kleiman:

“Update: Former #NFL RB Peyton Hillis is still in intensive care following saving his kids from drowning on Jan.5,” Kleiman tweeted. “Hillis is battling. Initially the lungs and kidneys were the main issues. his kidneys are a “great concern” now.”

Fortunately, and despite all the concerns, it seems like the former Cleveland Browns, Kansas City Chiefs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and New York Giants player is making slow but steady progress in his recovery:

“I just wanted to let everyone know on Razorback Nation that Peyton is doing better,” Peyton’s uncle, Greg Hillis wrote on his Facebook page. “He’s still in intensive care and having some problems with his kidneys and his lungs but the doctors say he is improving. I just wanted to head off any rumors that may be started,” the uncle added. “I’m sure he would want everyone to know that he appreciates all of the prayers thrown up on his behalf!!!”

Hopefully, Peyton will survive this terrible accident and spend many more years with his beloved family.

Keep him in your prayers, as this is what a true hero looks like.
