The San Francisco 49ers and the 2023 Offensive Player of the Year winner, Christian McCaffrey, are currently preparing for their big Super Bowl game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Ahead of their game, the 49ers have complained about a lot of things including a disruptive fire alarm at their hotel just day ahead of the decisive game.
During a recent press conference, the 49ers running back was asked about the disruptive fire alarm that went off for nearly 20 minutes at 6:00 a.m. McCaffrey said he didn’t think the fire alarm was simply an accident and implied it was intentionally done by someone to disrupt the Niners players.
As soon as the fire alarm went off, I just laughed. I’m like ‘Of course this would happen.’ It’s part of it. Is it random? No, I think there’s no way it’s random. It’s just more wood thrown onto the fire. Christian McCaffrey told the reporter
The fire alarm went off at 6 in the morning and the hotel engineers later noted it was just a false alarm and nobody was forced to evacuate. But McCaffrey believes it was not a random one. The star running back was not the only one who believed the fire alarm was not a random one. Nick Bosa, edge rusher of the Niners, also believes that someone was behind the disruptive alarm.

Furthermore, the 49ers also previously complained about the league giving them a soft field at the UNLV home stadium for their practice sessions. Head coach Kyle Shanahan and the Niners explored alternative practice fields before they were kind of forced to continue practice sessions at the UNLV field.
As previously mentioned, the 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey was not the only one to believe the fire alarm was just a random incident. Christian’s mom Lisa McCaffrey also believes the incident was an ‘inside job’
During the latest installment of Ashley Adamson’s “Your Mom” podcast, Lisa McCaffrey joked that a hotel employee from Kansas City could be behind the fire alarm incident.

One hundred percent [it was an inside job] because there was no emergency supposedly … [it went off] for 25 minutes. I don’t know … Their hotel is big-time lockdown, so I don’t think it was a fan infiltrating. I bet it was maybe an employee from Kansas City. Lisa McCaffrey said on the podcast
Nonetheless, both teams are ramping up their practice sessions with just a couple of days left for the big game. The 49ers are favored to win the game against the Chiefs, which is scheduled to take place this Sunday in Vegas.
