Indianapolis Colts Week 7 Player of the Week
Jenna Watson-USA TODAY Sports

While the Indianapolis Colts didn't come out on top in Week 7, one rookie had a breakout performance that shouldn't be forgotten.

Colts 3rd-round pick Josh Downs had his first 100-yard receiving game, and he decided even to surpass that milestone.

Downs hauled in five receptions for a game-high 125 yards, including a 59-yard touchdown.

Downs continues to stack solid performances as his last three weeks have been full of milestones being accomplished.

  • Week 5 Vs. Tennesee Titans: 6 receptions, 97 yards (Career High at the time)
  • Week 6 @ Jacksonville Jaguars: 5 receptions, 21 yards, 1 touchdown (1st NFL Touchdown)
  • Week 7 Vs. Cleveland Browns: 5 receptions, 125 yards (New Career High), 1 touchdown (Longest NFL Touchdown)

The Colts have already shown a lot of trust in the rookie WR, and he seems to be one of Gardner Minshew's favorite targets. The team may have just struck gold with Downs in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
