The Jacksonville Jaguars had a dismal 2021 season, going 3-14 and in last place in the AFC South. One of the reasons could be a lack of offense. The Jaguars scored a total of 253 points (32nd) and had 5,191 yards (27th), and 1,755 rushing yards (22nd). As the organization looked for answers after last season, they may have found one in the 2022 NFL Draft.

In order to provide more offense and bring some life back into the team, they drafted a versatile player. A player who can do an assortment of things to make a difference and bring some more wins to Jacksonville.  A player they drafted in the fifth round (154th overall) could be a difference maker that nobody saw coming. That player is RB Snoop Conner.

The 5-foot-10 and 215-pound Conner played his collegiate ball for the Ole Miss Rebels and was quite productive. Not Heisman Trophy worthy but still a star. Conner stood out from the rest because of his ability to run the ball, catch the ball out of the backfield, play defense, and also special teams. That uniqueness gives him a special quality that not many other athletes have. Conner is not a speed demon, as he ran the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine at a speed of 4.59 seconds. His lack of blazing speed can be made up by his skillfulness. Conner is a patient, yet powerful, runner who already has an NFL body. Despite the fact he is not the fastest runner he will keep the chains moving.

Currently, Conner is third on the depth chart for running backs behind Travis Etienne Jr and James Robinson but he can be effective in other ways. He can be a force on defense and special teams. Conner can also wait for his opportunity at running back and showcase his talents then. Disregarding what the coaching staff wants to do with him, he will be successful.

Conner ranked third in the SEC, and 24th  nationally, with 13 touchdowns, which also ranks him fifth all-time in Ole Miss history for touchdowns in a regular season. During his 3-year college career, he had averages of 5.2 rushing yards per attempt, 7.0 receiving yards per catch, 5.4 yards from scrimmage, and 16.3 yards on four kickoff returns.

Snopp Conner is a dark horse at this point. Nonetheless, he can use that to his advantage when on the field by simply playing to the best of his ability. Conner should be able to provide depth at the running back position, even if it is spot duty. When his time comes he will be ready to shine and lead the Jaguars to victory.
