Josh Allen had encouraging message for new Bills WR

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen had quite the endorsement for his newest wide receiver.

Keon Coleman, who was selected No. 33 overall by Buffalo, relayed the text message he received from Allen after the team made its selection. Allen told Coleman that he had seen plenty of the draft-eligible wide receivers, but Coleman was the one the quarterback wanted.

“He texted me the day of and was like, ‘You’re the guy I want. I watched a lot of receivers and I want to play with you,'” Coleman said, via Patrick Warren of the team’s official website. “And I’ve been saying the same thing. I want to play with the guy that wears number 17. I think he’s a great quarterback, one of the best in the league right now and I would love to be catching passes from him. I’m ready for that.”

Allen certainly needed someone to catch his passes after the team dealt Stefon Diggs to Houston. Coleman was their first big effort to address that issue. So far, it appears to be a popular move, as Coleman has endeared himself to Buffalo quite quickly.

Coleman led Florida State with 658 receiving yards and 11 receiving touchdowns in 2023. He may get a big role in the Buffalo offense very quickly.
