Justin Tucker explains his side of pregame drama with Chiefs

Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker found himself in a pregame spat with Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, and it seems one side took it a lot more seriously than the other.

Kelce tossed aside Tucker’s equipment during pregame warmups after Tucker was supposedly stretching in the same area Patrick Mahomes needed to warm up (video here). On Monday, Tucker addressed what happened, calling the whole situation “silly.”

“I just thought it was all some gamesmanship, all in good fun,” Tucker said, via Jamison Helsey of ESPN. “But it seemed to be taken a little more seriously. I’m totally willing to let it all go.”

Tucker added that he has nothing but respect for Mahomes and Kelce and that he has warmed up the same way during his entire 12-year career. The video does seem to back Tucker’s view, as he laughed the incident off while Kelce looked much less amused.

Ultimately, Tucker was a non-factor in Baltimore’s 17-10 loss, while Kelce went off to the tune of 11 catches for 116 yards and a touchdown. The whole affair almost certainly had nothing to do with the outcome, but it does signify how fired up the Chiefs were even before kickoff.
