The Kansas City Chiefs announced a massive signing for their defense ahead of the 2024 season. The Chiefs are in the midst of an offseason where they need to figure out several plans for starters from the 2023 squad.
The Chiefs slapped star cornerback L’Jarius Sneed with the franchise tag last week and granted Sneed permission to seek a trade. The Chiefs must also finalize a deal with All-Pro defensive tackle Chris Jones in the next few days, or he will walk into free agency next week.
One defender from the 2023 Super Bowl team will be back in the Chiefs’ bid for a three-peat. According to multiple reports, the Chiefs extended linebacker Drue Tranquill to a three-year deal worth $19 million, of which $13 million will be guaranteed.
