Kendrick Green Trade Still Possible for Steelers
USA TODAY Sports

The Pittsburgh Steelers have a few candidates they could likely trade before their 53-man roster is finalized, and one intriguing name on the list is offensive lineman Kendrick Green.

Green has had a very interesting summer, struggling at center but possibly finding some new value at fullback. The KG backfield experiment seemed to dim in Pittsburgh, but the Steelers still held faith in Green, and even started him after three of their guards were banged up in the final preseason game.

He played noticeably better than he did the prior two preseason games at center.

NFL.com's Eric Edholm still believes the Steelers might be able to move Green before deciding whether to cut him. And that even if he didn't work out in Pittsburgh, his value around the league might be worthy enough for move.

"Here's another 2021 third-round interior O-lineman with starting experience who could be on borrowed time with his AFC North team," Edholm writes. "The Steelers appear to be running out of options with Green, who started 15 games at center as a rookie but spent the entire 2022 campaign as a game-day inactive."

Green might not have much trade value, but something is always better than nothing if the Steelers are planning to move on. Teams like the New Orleans Saints were once believed to be a possibility, and a few others who were hit with injuries during the preseason could also make a call.
