Lamar Jackson reveals why he is ‘stressing’ to win a Super Bowl
Lamar Jackson Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

Though Lamar Jackson has a solid chance to reach the Super Bowl this year, it is a safe assumption he will have other opportunities in years to come. That is not how the Baltimore Ravens quarterback is operating, however.

Jackson admitted that he is “stressing” about the need to win a championship, in part because of how much things have changed for the Ravens since he was a rookie in 2018.

“I remember coming into the building with all of those guys. Now, it’s just like me, Gus (Edwards) and Mark (Andrews). We had so many guys. It was incredible, man. They’re all around the league right now and we’re not in the same locker room anymore. It’s crazy,” Jackson told Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic.

“It made me sit back and realize, ‘Damn, I’m getting older. I’ve got to get a championship now.’ That’s one of the reasons I’m stressing that I need to win it. I’m not getting any younger. It’s best to win it now.”

It is wild to hear Jackson contemplate getting older while he only just turned 27 earlier this month. On the other hand, he has already accomplished virtually everything else he could do in his NFL career. His 1-3 record in the playoffs is the lone blemish on what could turn out to be a Hall of Fame career path.

Only a year ago, Jackson was being criticized for not playing through a knee injury. Now, nobody is doubting his dedication or his talent.
