Former Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Jordan Phillips isn’t staying with the team for the 2024 season, but he’s officially sticking around New York. The New York Giants are reportedly signing Phillips to a new deal according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport. The deal has been in the works for several weeks, per Rapoport. He previously played for Buffalo on a one-year contract for $3 million.

Phillips just wrapped up his second stint with the Bills, having played for them in 2018 and 2019 as well. He spent the last two seasons with Buffalo, racking up 35 tackles, four sacks and 4.5 tackles for loss.

Prior to his time with the Bills, Phillips played for the Arizona Cardinals in 2020 and 2021. He joined them on a three-year, $30 million deal after tallying 9.5 sacks for the Bills in 2019. It was the biggest deal of his career yet.

During his two seasons in Arizona, the former Oklahoma Sooners standout had 33 tackles, five sacks and three tackles for loss, with two forced fumbles. The team released him to clear up $10 million in cap space for the 2022 season, leaving him free to return to Buffalo.

Phillips began his career with the Miami Dolphins where he spent his first four seasons. The team waived him in October of his fourth season. The Dolphins drafted him No. 52 overall in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft out of Oklahoma. While with the Sooners, he was a second-team All-Big 12 honoree.

Though nine seasons and three different teams, Phillips has accumulated 181 tackles, 24 sacks, 25.5 tackles for loss and three forced fumbles with two recoveries. He also pulled down one lone interception in 2016.
