Former New York Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes referred to the New York Jets as a "JV team across the way."

Using his thumbs instead of his leg, the former NFL specialist dealt the insult through Twitter late Friday night.

Quote-tweeting a tweet from former Jets' defensive lineman Leger Douzable, Tynes turned the conversation from a debate about the quality of the Minnesota Vikings' defense into an opportunity to fire a cheap shot at Gang Green.

"I’m logging off. Don’t you cover the JV team across the way? You know better than this Douz," said Tynes in a post timestamped at 10:47 pm on April 14.

Apparently feeling the need to regain relevance, the retired kicker unnecessarily threw shade toward a team that doesn't even compete in the same conference as his former employer.

The exchange between Douzable, who currently works as a studio analyst for CBS Sports, and Tynes began over the idea of Giants' quarterback Daniel Jones being the brunt of widespread disrespect. After defending Jones and praising his NFC Wildcard performance against the Vikings, Tynes chose to veer onto the low road.

Tynes, who co-hosts a Giants-focused podcast produced by the New York Post, is a self-proclaimed "NFL Expert" according to his Twitter bio. The Scottish-born Tynes has been out of the league since 2013.

Douzable, who was a member of the Jets from 2013 through 2015, played his last NFL game in 2017. The 6-foot-4 defensive tackle did not miss a game in three seasons with Gang Green. He competed for five different organizations over his eight-year professional career.
