At first, it seemed like a terrible self-own by new Green Bay Packers starting quarterback Jordan Love.
Aaron Rodgers once famously told Bears fans that he owned them. For a minute, it seemed as if Love — Rodgers' successor in Green Bay — turned those tables.
A video of Love wishing a happy Father's Day to "all the Bears fans out there" went wild on the internet on Sunday, but the context behind the video has since been revealed and it makes so much more sense.
Originally, it seemed like Love was calling Chicago fans his father, meaning that in a sense, they owned him. As it turns out, though, he was just doing a favor for a fan.
There is no more I handed him my phone asking him to make a fun video to originally wish the French Bears fans a happy Father's day and that is his original take. Tho he forgot to mention "french" and obviously I or better said he lit fire . Here u the picture b4 the vid. pic.twitter.com/lCZ1zHR8x8

The explanation makes sense. Love was just trying to be a good guy, even for a rival fan.
Green Bay's new starting quarterback gave his own thoughts on the matter via Twitter as well, saying, "[I] was asked to do a special favor for this fan, didn’t think much of it, but I see y’all really took it and ran with it. Regardless, I hope everyone had a great Father's Day."

Things sure are changing in Green Bay. Rodgers is with the New York Jets, and the new quarterback of the Packers is doing personal favors for Bears fans.
None of this will matter as long as Love wins in Green Bay, though, and it will certainly be water under the bridge as long as he keeps beating the Bears.
