Panthers midseason surprise: Veteran WR Adam Thielen

When the Carolina Panthers signed Adam Thielen to a three-year, $25 million contract, the franchise knew he would be good.

But no one knew he would be this good.

Despite the quiet game against the Indianapolis Colts, where he only had five catches for 29 yards, Thielen has routinely been rookie quarterback Bryce Young's favorite target. And for good reason.

So far this season, Thielen has three double-digit reception games. He also has three games where he has passed the century mark in yardage.

His best game came against the Seattle Seahawks, with Andy Dalton quarterbacking the offense, when Thielen notched 145 yards on 11 catches.

In the Panthers' first win of the season, Thielen amassed 72 yards, and he had a clutch catch that sealed the game for Carolina on fourth down.

When the Panthers plucked Thielen away from the Minnesota Vikings, most knew he was a reliable receiver. But on a team devoid of a true No. 1 pass-catcher, Thielen has been a pleasant surprise.
