The New England Patriots have locked up one of their most vital members of its special teams unit on a long-term contract.
Patriots’ punter Jake Bailey reached agreement on a four-year, $13.5 million contract that includes $6.5 million fully guaranteed and runs through 2025 season, per source. The new deal makes Bailey one of the league’s three highest-paid punters.

Bailey was selected by the Patriots in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL draft and ended his rookie season second in punts (81) and fourth in punting yards (3,638). Bailey won AFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors in Week 3 and Week 11 of the 2019 campaign.
The 25-year-old broke out during the 2020 season, earning Pro Bowl honors and being named First Team All-Pro as well. Bailey ranked fourth in the NFL at 48.7 yards per punt.
He finished with 49 punts for 2,316 yards during the 2021 season.
