Ravens could soon extend reliable offensive lineman

The Ravens have added several new pieces to their roster this offseason, but their next move may be ensuring one of their key veterans sticks around for a little longer.

Reportedly, Baltimore and guard Kevin Zeitler, who is entering the final year of his deal after signing a three-year, $22 million deal with the team in 2021, have "mutual interest" in working out a contract extension.

Zeitler is 33 but proved he still has plenty left in the tank. In 2022, he allowed just two sacks, according to Pro Football Focus.

ESPN's Adam Schefter already reported that Zeitler is in search of a new contract after he wasn't present for the voluntary portion of OTA’s but added "he will report" for the mandatory portions of the offseason.

If the Ravens do believe Zeitler can still hang with the best, extending him would make sense as he would likely cost less than his original contract.

Baltimore did make Lamar Jackson the highest-paid quarterback in the league this offseason, making money a little tight, but Jackson's extension gives the team the ability to move money around.

Zeitler has spent a lot of time in the AFC North, being drafted by the Bengals and spending time with the Browns and Ravens. So, why not keep him in the division where he's had most of his lot of success?
