Ravens hire new offensive coordinator

The Ravens have been in search of their next offensive coordinator since parting ways with Greg Roman. They have officially filled the position.

Baltimore announced it hired Todd Monken, who has spent the last three years as the University of Georgia's offensive coordinator.

Monken helped lead the Bulldogs to win two straight College National Championships and now brings his talents to the Ravens. Georgia's offense was the fourth-best team in points per game (41.1) and fifth-best in total yards per game (501.1) in 2022.

Monken returns to the NFL to coach his fourth team. He was previously the offensive coordinator for the Browns (2019) and Buccaneers (2018) along with being the receivers coach for the Jaguars (2007-2010).

"Todd's leadership and coaching acumen were evident from the beginning," head coach John Harbaugh said that after 21 interviews with 14 candidates. "We're excited to get to work and begin building an offense that will help us compete for championships."

It's the first of at least a couple of big decisions Baltimore will have to make this offseason.

Monken may be the right guy but who his quarterback will be is still up in the air. Maybe QB Lamar Jackson's future will be the next news to break in the coming weeks.
