Report: Free agent LB Damien Wilson suspended 4 games
Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports

Veteran linebacker Damien Wilson, currently a free agent, was suspended for the next four weeks of the season for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy, NFL Network reported Thursday.

Wilson, 30, has not been with a team since the Carolina Panthers released him in March.

He was arrested in April 2022 after allegedly threatening to kill his ex-girlfriend with a tire iron. He was charged with an assault with bodily injury of a family member. Wilson denied the claims.

It was unclear whether a case against Wilson made it to court.

Wilson was also arrested in 2017 and faced two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, but a grand jury declined to indict him.

Wilson played in 127 career games with the Dallas Cowboys (2015-18), Kansas City Chiefs (2019-20), Jacksonville Jaguars (2021) and Panthers. He saw the field in all 17 games for Carolina last year, making five starts and recording 38 tackles and two sacks.
