Seahawks Legends Among Owners of New 'Legion' Restaurant
USA TODAY Sports

Years after they left the Seattle Seahawks, cornerback Richard Sherman and safety Kam Chancellor are still building their footprint in the area.

The former "Legion of Boom" stars are now embarking on a new endeavor. According to the Puget Sound Business Journal, the two are among the owners of a new restaurant in Bellevue, Wash. fittingly named "Legion." The restaurant has been described as "an upscale sports bar with soul food and creative cocktails," and is due to open in September.

Sherman and Chancellor were both listed on a liquor license application submitted to the state's Liquor and Cannabis Board, the Business Journal reports. Also on the application are Ashley Sherman and Tiffany Chancellor, the two players' wives, as well as business partners Leilani Wong and Adam Willden.

Sherman specifically is no stranger to the restaurant industry. He previously opened a pair of Wingstop locations in the Seattle area when he was still playing for the Seahawks.

On the field, Sherman and Chancellor were both among the greatest defenders in franchise history. They both earned at least four Pro Bowl selections in their time with the Seahawks, led them to their first Super Bowl championship in 2013 and nearly led them to another the following year. Chancellor played eight seasons with the Seahawks before retiring, while Sherman played seven seasons with the club before joining the San Francisco 49ers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the final years of his career.

Sherman and Chancellor's playing days in Seattle may be long behind them, but their love for the community appears as strong as ever.
