Sources say Indianapolis Colts and Pro Bowler Quandre Diggs have mutual interest
Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

The initial wave of NFL free agency is over, but that doesn't mean teams are done exploring additional moves.

That's the exact case with the Indianapolis Colts. Sources tell A to Z Sports that the Colts and three-time Pro Bowl safety Quandre Diggs have mutual interest in playing together. It was made clear earlier that the Colts were interested, but things weren't as clear on Diggs' side. That has since been clarified, and yes, he's interested.

A source close to Diggs' camp told me that the Colts are one of the teams most interested in signing him. I have also learned that Diggs is intrigued by the idea of signing with the Colts. While there is mutual interest between the two sides, I'm told that no deal is imminent at this time. Still, it has undoubtedly become a situation to monitor as free agency continues.

Colts LB Zaire Franklin recently hit the recruiting trail via social media targeting Diggs as a player he wants to join the Colts, and Diggs not only saw the post but interacted with it as well.

The Detroit Lions originally drafted Diggs in the sixth round of the 2015 NFL Draft, where he spent the four-ish seasons before getting traded to the Seattle Seahawks in 2019. He hasn't missed a game since 2020 and made three-straight Pro Bowls from 2020-2022.

He was released for cap reasons, as the Seahawks saved $11 million with the move. Diggs can still play and would immediately come in and add starting snaps to the Colts' secondary. He is certainly a player defensive coordinator Gus Bradley will be able to trust at FS, given how often the team deployed single-high safety formations last season.
