The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are rebuilding a new team this offseason after Tom Brady retired in February. The Buccaneers’ offense is planning to operate differently in Todd Bowles’ second season as the head coach. The defense recently signed former Seattle Seahawks safety Ryan Neal in free agency. Neal has high aspirations in his first year in Tampa Bay.

According to the Pewter Report, Neal said he wants to earn a legitimate starter role for the Buccaneers. He started for the Seahawks due to Jamal Adams’ injury:

“It was definitely appealing,” Neal said.  “My goal is to show the league that I’m a legit starter. I’ve been to Seattle the last couple of years, had my chance to flash and show. Last year was really big, and this year I just want to make that set and stone. Set the statement (that) I’ll start at safety.”

The current rost, plagued with cap space problems, should give Neal a chance to earn that job.
