Titans address catastrophic issue with massive free agent signing of top center Lloyd Cushenberry
Thomas Shea-USA TODAY Sports

According to multiple reports, the Tennessee Titans are signing free agent center Lloyd Cushenberry to a contract.

Cushenberry was one of the top offensive linemen on the market and has started 57 games for the Denver Broncos since 2020.

Aaron Brewer is a free agent, but Tennessee now upgrades at center to begin what is a necessary overhaul of the offensive line.

Brewer's lack of size often made him a liability in pass protection. According to PFF, Brewer allowed five sacks and 27 pressures on the 2023 season. That was the second most sacks of all NFL centers and the second most pressures of all NFL centers.

Then there's Cushenberry, who has allowed just two sacks and 16 pressures in the last two seasons combined. According to PFF, Cushenberry was the 3rd best center in pass protection last season.

It's also worth noting that he has been fairly reliable. A strained groin landed him on Injured Reserve at the end of 2022, but Cushenberry has played over 1,000 offensive snaps in three of his four NFL seasons.
