Tom Brady gushes over Patrick Mahomes with impressive breakdown of his skillset

It's nearly impossible to debate the on-field accomplishments of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes as he prepares for a sixth consecutive trip to the AFC Championship Game. Another player who falls in that same undebatable category is former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, who offered up the best example in recent memory of a "game recognize game" moment while gushing about Mahomes.

The future Hall-of-Famer discussed Mahomes on the latest episode of his SiriusXM podcast 'Let's Go' with Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray, and it certainly didn't disappoint.

"He's an incredible competitor and I think it's on display in the biggest moments ... It doesn't phase him, he doesn't care that [last week's game] is in Buffalo, he wants to go out and play whoever's the best to see how he matches up," Brady said of Mahomes.

"He always seems to play his best in the big moments. Even the Super Bowl where we got him when we were in Tampa, he was running all over, he ran for 450 yards horizontally across the field to get passes off," Brady continued. "... He still in those moments was giving his team a chance to win from his athletic ability, his tenacity, his competitiveness, he's got so many of those intangibles."

Here's a look at the full breakdown, which featured Brady discussing Mahomes for just over one minute and 15 seconds straight.

Hearing such a detailed breakdown of how exceptional Mahomes is from arguably the greatest quarterback in NFL history is eye-opening. Brady's comments alone showcased the amount of respect he has for the Chiefs signal-caller, and he appears to have no issue enjoying the skillset of Mahomes, even while some of his records fall in the process.
