Usain Bolt thinks Chiefs' Tyreek Hill is 'probably scared' to wager Super Bowl ring on race

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill is fast, but Usain Bolt is faster.

The retired Jamaican sprinter, who won eight Olympic gold medals, told TMZ Sports that he's willing to bet one of those medals in a race with Hill, who he believes cannot beat him.

"For me I still think I would get him in 40 [yard dash]," Bolt said. "I definitely gotta train. He's been working out. I work out too, but I would have to step up my training."

Bolt retired in 2017, and Hill has remained in peak shape for the upcoming NFL season, so it's no surprise the 35-year-old feels he needs to train before what would be one of the most fascinating races of the century.

Hill is considered by many to be the fastest player in the NFL. He ran a 4.29 40-yard dash at his Pro Day and has reportedly recorded a 10.19 in the 100-meter dash. However, Bolt holds the world record in the 100m, completing the race in 9.58 seconds in 2009.

While Bolt is willing to risk one of his prized gold medals, he doesn't believe Hill will put his one Super Bowl ring, won in 2020, on the line in a race.

"I don't think he would [risk his SB ring]," Bolt said. "He has one. He's probably scared."

Hill has primarily been the one pushing for a race against Bolt. Last month, the 27-year-old called out Bolt, saying he's "old" and "washed up."

Bolt then appeared on the "Dan Patrick Show" and challenged Hill to a 70-yard race with the Super Bowl ring against gold medal suggestion.

Given that Bolt is retired, it isn't as wild to think about the possibility that Hill could beat him. Hill reached a top speed of 20 mph 12 times last season, according to NFL Next Gen Stats, which is pretty impressive.

Regardless of the winner, Hill vs. Bolt would be one of the most-watched sporting events of the year if it happens. At this point, a race would probably occur after the 2021 NFL season if it were to happen. That would allow Bolt plenty of time to train.
