Vikings roster moves: Michael Dogbe, Joejuan Williams to practice squad
Steven Bisig-USA TODAY Sports

The Vikings have made a few roster moves recently:

  • WR Trishton Jackson signed to active roster from practice squad
  • QB Kirk Cousins placed on injured reserve
  • DL Michael Dogbe signed to practice squad
  • CB Joejuan Williams signed to practice squad
  • CB C.J. Coldon Jr. released from practice squad
  • G Chris Reed's practice window opened

Of course, the team also added QB Josh Dobbs from Arizona and sent LG Ezra Cleveland to Jacksonville in separate pre-deadline trades on Tuesday.

Dogbe, 27, was drafted in the seventh round out of Temple by the Cardinals in 2019. He appeared in 40 games over four seasons in Arizona, starting five of them. Dogbe has two career sacks and four total tackles for loss, playing north of 260 defensive snaps in each of the two previous seasons. This year, he spent the offseason with the Jaguars and then signed with the Texans, appearing in their Week 2 game against the Colts.

Williams was with the Vikings this offseason before getting plucked off their practice squad by the Bears in late September. He appeared in four games with Chicago, primarily on special teams, before being released. Now he's back in Minnesota to provide additional cornerback depth. Williams replaces Coldon, who was part of the Vikings' UDFA class this year.

Both Reed and WR Jalen Nailor were estimated as full participants on Wednesday's practice report and could be activated from injured reserve soon. Reed's been out for several months with a foot injury suffered away from football. With Cleveland gone, Reed provides interior offensive line depth along with Blake Brandel, Austin Schlottmann, and Hakeem Adeniji.

The Vikings have one spot open on the active roster at the moment. If they want to activate both Reed and Nailor, they'd presumably release someone from the practice squad and send Trishton Jackson back there yet again.
