Vikings' Thursday injury report: A discouraging sign
USA TODAY Sports

The Minnesota Vikings play on Monday Night Football this week, so no Wednesday injury report was released.

On the team's Thursday report, there are a couple of concerning notes. For one, Akayleb Evans is limited once again, and another concerning note is that one key starter was unable to participate.

Guard Ezra Cleveland did not participate on Thursday due to a foot injury. Cleveland has been stellar this season, earning a 73.8 PFF grade and being credited with just one allowed sack.

If Cleveland can't go on MNF, one would assume Dalton Risner slides in to the starting lineup.

The other point of concern is Akayleb Evans. Evans was listed on last week's injury reports with a knee injury. Now, Evans is listed as dealing with an oblique. The second-year corner has been Minnesota's most reliable cover man this season, so he would be a big loss against an explosive Niners' offense.

Elsewhere on the report, edge rusher Pat Jones II and receiver Jalen Nailor were both limited participants due to a shoulder and hamstring respectively.

Friday's injury report will hopefully tell us more about these players' statuses for MNF. Last week, the Vikes had multiple players listed as limited participants, and then they all played in the game.
