Chicago Bears fans not surprisingly are still reeling from the “Double Doink Heard ‘Round The World,” otherwise known as Cody Parkey’s devastating miss on a potential game-winning field-goal kick during last Sunday’s wild-card loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
So much so, in fact, that content has begun showing up on social media in which video and/or audio footage has been digitally manipulated so that Parkey’s kick at the end of regulation splits the uprights instead of clanking off the upright and crossbar.
First, an altered version of the Bears’ radio call.

Parkey of course has been subjected to brutal mockery and unending ridicule since Sunday’s 16-15 loss, although it must be pointed out that the 26-year-old kicker handled the situation about as well as expected given the circumstances.
Furthermore, the fact that the FG attempt that went painfully awry was officially changed from a miss to a block by the NFL should lend some semblance of solace to the embattled placekicker. That change presumably is of little comfort to still-devastated Bears fans, though.
