The Philadelphia Eagles have nine captains this year. Jalen Hurts is a captain, A.J. Brown is a captain, and after a recent sideline exchange, center Jason Kelce should be known as Captain Obvious.
In Week 2, Philadelphia defeated Minnesota, 34-28, in a Thursday night in the team’s home opener. Being their second game in five days, it’s understandable that members of the team, especially the linemen would be tired.
Kelce certainly was. While acknowledging most people assume he prefers running plays, Kelce offered two things he enjoys even more: three-play scoring drives and 90-yard touchdown passes.

Luckily, wide receiver DeVonta Smith had his back against the Vikings. Facing third-and-4 in the third quarter on their own 37-yard line, Hurts hit Smith deep with a 63-yard touchdown pass to put the team up 27-7.
Technically, the play was 27 yards short of Kelce’s preference, but the drive took three plays, which made the veteran center very happy.
The Eagles will play their second consecutive prime time when they face the Buccaneers in Tampa Bay on “Monday Night Football.” The Eagles are favored by five points at Raymond James Stadium, where we assume Kelce will still favor short drives and big plays.
