Watch: Packers' Jordan Love could use a 'tush push'

Packers quarterback Jordan Love was expected to struggle to replace Aaron Rodgers, but no one thought he'd have trouble following in Jalen Hurts' footsteps. The Eagles have perfected the art of the quarterback sneak. The Packers aren’t there yet.

Holding a two-point lead against the Falcons late in the fourth quarter, Green Bay faced fourth-and-inches at their own 34-yard line. Love called his own number and forced himself between center Josh Myers and right guard Jon Runyan Jr. There was just one problem. He didn’t have the ball.

It’s something you’ll never see when the Philadelphia Eagles face short yardage. Their “tush push” play has become something of a calling card since Hurts took over the offense in 2021.

Hurts scored twice using the play against the Vikings on Thursday night, but it doesn’t look like Love or offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich watched the game. The Packers went on to lose to Atlanta, 25-24, and fell to 1-1 on the season.

Would things have been different with a successful sneak play? It’s possible. Should the Packers check out Philadelphia’s game tape before they try again? Absolutely.
