Watt brothers make history on cover of legendary cereal box

For more than 80 years, some of the greatest athletes of all time have had the opportunity to grace the cover of the legendary Wheaties cereal box. Now the time has come for the Watt brothers, and they're making history doing so.

J.J. Watt and T.J. Watt are the first pair of brothers to ever appear on the Wheaties box and the first duo to do it since 1934.

J.J. Watt retired from the NFL this offseason following an impressive 12-year run that will likely land him in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year (2012, 2014-15) and five-time Pro Bowler finished his career with 114.5 sacks, which ranks 24th all-time in league history.

T.J. Watt is entering his seventh season with the Steelers since being drafted by them in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft. The 2021 NFL Defensive Player of the Year and five-time Pro Bowler has 77.5 career sacks and tied Michael Strahan's single-season sack record with 22.5 sacks in 2021.

"Built around a uniting love for football, the Watt family is grounded in perseverance, togetherness and a commitment to doing the right thing when it matters most, while serving communities in their lives outside of football," Wheaties senior brand experience manager Kathy Dixon said in a press release. "That's what being a Wheaties Champion is all about, and one of the many reasons we're so proud to feature J.J. and T.J. on the cover of this limited-edition box."

For those wondering, middle brother Derek Watt, a former fullback with the Chargers and Steelers, will appear on the back of the box as well.

The Wheaties box will be available for purchase in mid-July.
