Wife of Cowboys' Cooper Rush trolls Giants for cutting him

Long before the Dallas Cowboys needed to call backup quarterback Cooper Rush into action this season because starter Dak Prescott suffered a serious thumb injury in Week 1 on Sept. 11, Rush spent time on the practice squad of the New York Giants in 2020. He never made a meaningful appearance for "Big Blue" before he was released but has since won three total starts with the Cowboys, including back-to-back games this month and Monday's 23-16 victory at none other than the Giants.

As Ryan Chichester pointed out for Audacy, Lauryn Rush, the signal-caller's wife, took to her Instagram Story to celebrate her husband's accomplishment and also troll his former employer on Monday evening.

"Two years ago almost to the freaking day the Giants cut Cooper because they wanted to just 'rotate in other QBs and see,'" Lauryn captioned a post that featured a clip of Rush and the Cowboys lining up in victory formation to run the final seconds of the clock out. "Lolz. Fast forward…. Monday freaking night in MetLife and starting for AMERICA’S TEAM."

Rush helped guide the Cowboys to a 20-17 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sept. 18 before Monday's victory that improved Dallas to 2-1 on the season. The 28-year-old completed 21-of-31 passes for 215 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions against the Giants.

Unless Prescott is cleared to return this week, which seems unlikely considering the nature of his injury, Rush will take the Cowboys into this coming Sunday's home divisional matchup against the 1-2 Washington Commanders.
