Anaheim Ducks sign Cutter Gauthier to entry-level contract

The Anaheim Ducks announced that they have signed forward Cutter Gauthier to a three-year, entry-level contract beginning immediately.

Gauthier spent the 2023-24 season with Boston College in the NCAA and notched a league-leading 38 goals and 27 assists for 65 points in 38 games. Gauthier’s 38 goals are tied for the most goals in a single season in Boston College history and the most by an NCAA player since the 1999-00 season. Gauthier helped lead the Boston College Eagles to the NCAA Championship Game where they ultimately lost to the University of Denver Pioneers. The 20-year-old finishes his NCAA career with 54 goals and 102 points in 73.

Gauthier was named to the NCAA Hockey East First All-Star Team and was named an NCAA Hobey Baker Award Nominee for the NCAA Top Collegiate Player.

Internationally, Gauthier represented the United States at the 2023 and 2024 IIHF World Juniors. He captured a bronze medal in 2023 and in 2024 led the United States to a gold medal victory and was named the World Junior Championship Best Forward after recording two goals and 12 points in seven games. He also represented Team USA at the 2023 World Championship, ranking tied for second in goals at the tournament with seven.

Gauthier was oringally selected by the Philadelphia Flyers as their No. 5 overall in the 2022 NHL Draft. Earlier this year, Gauthier demanded a trade out of Philadelphia and the Flyers worked diligently to facilitate a trade in which he was dealt to the Ducks in exchange for defenseman Jamie Drysdale.

Anaheim plays their final game of the 2023-24 regular season on April 18 against the Vegas Golden Knights where Gauthier is expected to make his National Hockey League debut.
